how to hack a bowl sink
finally, i'm getting more bathroom hacks. this one is from scott.
"my family and i used a 3 drawer bath unit with beech front in this hack. we used an existing pedestal sink, put the ikea 3 drawer unit below as well as an ikea grundtal double towel rack. then, we took a black laminate shelf, cut out around the sink and put it on top. we added towels below and you have a poor man's bowl sink!"
not at all. i think it is pretty classy.

Wow. I REALLY like this one. My tiny bathroom has very little space for storage, and this might be the solution. I already have a pedestal sink in there ... Hmm ...
I love this -- but how did you get the bowl part on top of the laminate and manage to keep the laminate in one piece? Is there a seam? Did you remove the bowl part of the sink?
I'd love more specific instructions. I'd do this in a second.
Brilliant. Just... brilliant.
what we did was leave the pedestal sink intack, then custom cut the laminate shelf to 'slide' under where you see it. We then secured the laminate to the 3 drawer on one side and put a small L bracket on the wall and the laminate on the other side. So far my children have not broken it yet!
This is just awesome! Looks wicked.
Sweet!!!
Very nicely done!

That is freakin' awesome! It looks amazing!
This is such a great solution to the eternal lack of storage in bathrooms. How did you cut the laminate? What equipment will I need to cut the laminate? Any tips on how to get the right sized hole to fit the sink as snugly as possible?
What are the dimensions of the countertop?
simply beautiful!!!
we are redoing our tiny bathroom and this is just marvelous.
THANK YOU!
thank you, it's fabulous!
what's the item name for the drawer unit you used?

Play nice. Be appreciative of another's efforts. Don't say anything that you won't say in front of your mom or daughter.
