Awesome Hack....love it
That's a horrible place for a subwoofer for a number of reasons. Though I guess if you leave it off thats ok.
now that's a hack. good work!
Great Hack Charles- Way to come up with a solution for those darned sub-woofers! I like it alot!
We recently bought one of the off the shelf entertainment units this hack emulates for about $400. Ours came with glass panes in the doors, which we presume enable us to use our remote controls for the DVD player and Tivo. We put our receiver, which gets very hot, and our center speaker in the ventilated cabinet. Wondering if the electronics get cooled enough and if the remotes can control components through the cabinet doors.
how much did this whole hack cost? i think this looks so sweet and i wanted to make my own tv stand.
That is a beautiful hack, but as idiot savant said a horrible place for a subwoofer. Acoustically, your going to get better bass if you put it just about anywhere else. I would also be concerned about a big subwoofer with a big magnet being so close to your LCD screen, not so good....
