Craft table for 4

Here's a craft table to rival Spring Chick's.

Peter says, "I made a craft table using various Ikea parts a few years back.

It comprises of 4 Helmer draw units as legs, a self made and distressed plywood top, 2 Tertial lamps clamped down and an Anordna wire basket in the hole in the middle to hold glue bottles, dog biscuits and the such. As you can see it has room for at least 4 people to sit at the table, each with their own set of drawers and ample leg room. Currently one side houses a computer, the other my wife uses for painting and the remaining two sides hold an array of our current chaotic projects."

See more of Peter's craft table.

It looks beautiful and very practical. But the Helmer units are rather low. I have one under my desk and if I sit comfortably with my legs an 90 degrees, they reach not even till mid-thigh.

I'm 5ft11, so I'm not gigantic. For me to make this work (and it does look attractive!) I'd need to put something else up or under the drawers.

This is bloody brilliant, this is.

I can't tell from the photos--but it does seem like the Helmer units are raised up a bit, so maybe this is desk height?

The table was slightly low, but we never had leg fitting issue. I did recently install 4 inch "boots" to each leg to stop the Helmer's wheels from denting our new cork floor.

Some more photos of it are at:
